Chungju

The first two photos show where mum's Korean families live. The greens in front of gray apartment buildings are all thanks to a farmer who does not want to surrender his property for development.
Chungju is indeed a small town and rather looks humble compared with other cities in Korea but friendly. It's got all sorts of small stores within mum's walking distance.
Mum had a walk to downtown in the evening to take these photos while Jamie took a nap. It's been very warm. Mum's waiting for the rainy season which usually starts about this time (from the end of June to early or mid July). Rainy days will quench mum's thirst for rain she got in dry Melbourne.
