Reading with dad

These days Jamie's passion on books has subsided a bit maybe because she is now more mobile than ever and sees a lot of things around. She wants to know what is what for almost everything she comes across.

This morning, Jamie was apparently singing a song. It sounded like '[dowaji~dowaji~olu dowaji]' and her mum initially wondered what it was and then realised soon it was [Song-a-ji] song, one of the most well-known Korean primary school nursery rhymes Posted by Picasa

Alarm

This is a photo of Jamie taken before 100th day birthday celebration (about 12 weeks old). Jamie's mum likes this photo because the way Jamie looks at the photographer, who is of course the mum herself. Jamie has grown to be a loving and friendly little girl. She is not shy of meeting new people. She will make friends with you very quickly with great smiles and great interests in you. She will ask you many questions about you. 'What is that you are wearing on your wrist?', 'Is this a flower?', 'Ah, you've got big nose!' ([jeo-go?], [K'ot?], [ko] gazing at your eyes and pointing at things). Yesterday while having lunch, Jamie paused and asked her mum, 'Mum, is that an alarm?', pointing at the security alarm at the corner of the ceiling [eom-ma, jeo-go al-la?]. When she says '[al-la]', she lets her tongue out of the mouth completely. Her mum tries not to laugh too much and answers, 'Yes, it's an alarm.' Posted by Picasa

Friends from Korea

Seven friends came from Korea and stayed with us from 14th to 26th, Feb. Although some burning hot days made us a bit difficult to relax we had lots of fun. Jamie loved the friends' company. She would crawl to their room first thing in the morning. This photo captured one of those mornings (clockwise from left end: Jamie, Soyoung, Jaehi, Jaehong, and Sohi). Since the friends left, Jamie shows what she's learnted from them. The other morning, she called her mum and said, 'Hi, mum!' [um-ma, an-nyeong]. Jamie now greets to everyone who enters or leaves the house saying [an-nyeong]! (Korean [an-nyeong] is equivalent to both 'hi' and 'bye'). Today Jamie's 13 months old. Posted by Picasa
